Het uiteindelijke doel moet een haalbaar doel zijn. Als u vooraf weet
wat uw kansen zijn, kan teleurstelling achteraf worden voorkomen.

Since 2020 I have been working at Cleerdin & Hamer. Before that, I worked for a number of years at a law firm in Amsterdam with a general legal practice, where I gained extensive (litigation) experience. Because I have completed both a master’s degree in Dutch law (specialization private law) and tax law, I am able to advise and assist clients from a broad perspective within a variety of legal areas.

At Cleerdin & Hamer I work in the family law and real estate sections. Due to my experience in general legal practice, I have litigated a lot.

In my work I will tell you what it is like, taking your emotions into account, but I will also be clear if the legal reality does not meet your wishes. That may be disappointing, but I think it is important that you are clearly informed so that you know what your rights are and what other options are available. I will outline these options to you and make a plan of action together with you.

Family law

Emotions play an important role in family cases. It is therefore important that a lawyer can empathize with your emotions. Because I worked in healthcare for many years during my law studies, I have a lot of human knowledge. I am very involved in society and my drive is to help people. As a lawyer I can empathize with the emotions that play a role in, for example, a divorce, but I do not hesitate to be clear about what is feasible and what is not. The ultimate goal must be an attainable goal. If you know your chances in advance, disappointment afterwards can be avoided.

I will work with you to determine the strategy in your case. In principle, I will work with you to find a solution without the intervention of a judge. Especially when children are involved, it is better to come to agreements together and avoid a fight divorce. You live, get married and have children together, but you also divorce together. By making mutual agreements a tailor-made solution is possible while a court decision is imposed, so personal wishes can’t be taken into account. If it does not work to come to a solution in consultation, then of course I do not hesitate to start a procedure.

Real estate

In my practice I mainly deal with HOA (Homeowner’s Association) law and disputes between client and contractor (liability law). Problems can sometimes arise within a HOA, for example because owners want to expand or renovate or because owners want to rent out their home through airbnb. Together with you, I will try to find a solution in consultation with the HOA and owners, but sometimes a procedure is inevitable.

Litigation will also often take place when it comes to disputes between the client and the contractor.
No matter how well a contract is put together, disputes can always arise between the client and the contractor during or after work, for example about exceeding the costs of the contract price or because the end result is not satisfactory.

In my practice, I focus on advising and assisting both individuals and companies in legal proceedings.
During my work, the interests of my clients come first. In every case I see a new challenge and I like to solve complex legal issues.
